The application period is open through March 31st at 6:00pm. The lottery is April 14th. Applications submitted after the lottery will be placed on the waitlist in the order they are received.

Application Notes:
After creating your account, you'll be prompted to create student/family profiles. Then, click on "HOME." From there, you can start your application. Though you will see references to ArtSpace Charter School, there is a screen that clearly prompts you to make a school selection for your application. Choose "Spark Learning Center" and complete the prompts!
Applications for Spark and ArtSpace are separate.
Spark Learning Center is a tuition-free, public charter school. Students must reside in North Carolina in one of the following counties: Buncombe, Henderson, McDowell, Transylvania, Yancey, Haywood, Rutherford, or Madison.

Is Spark a good choice for our family?
To be considered for enrollment to the Spark Learning Center, both students and parents must complete the application and acknowledge a statement of understanding, which acknowledges that students should possess:
● Developing management skills,
● Basic computer skills;
● Developing communication and self-advocacy skills; and
● Families are able to:

- Support and monitor student progress by being involved
- Communicate regularly with teachers
- As needed, transport students to Spark for in person assessments, extra-curricular clubs and activities, and tutor sessions.
